Welcome To Kames Castle Holiday Cottages

Kames Castle is a truly lovely, privately-owned estate and family home situated by Kames Bay to the north of the Isle Of Bute.  Within the grounds are a number of period Cottages, each of them listed, of which five are currently available as holiday retreats of exceptional comfort, beauty and tranquillity.  During your stay you can be assured of your privacy and sense of space, as a matter of policy.  Even at full capacity, the estate will never seem over-peopled.  We want you, as our guest, to be free to enjoy the peace and beauty of our grounds. 

Magnificent 18th Century Walled Garden

Within the estate is a magnificent, two-acre 18th Century walled garden.  As well as enjoying its peace and colour, guests may help themselves to garden produce - a variety of seasonal vegetables and fruits, when available.  Perhaps then enjoy a stroll by the burn or across expansive lawns planted with spectacular rhododendrons.  The grounds also feature many specimen trees, some native to Scotland, others from around the world, especially South America.

Children Welcome

Children are most welcome and for them Kames is a rare place of natural adventure.  They may see a wide variety of wildlife in its own habitat: especially deer, herons and birds of prey.  Younger ones will love the outdoor playhouse.  The family tennis court and putting green are available to guests for much of the time.
