A fun-filled, family holiday to the Isle of Bute - in sketches
Last month we were delighted to welcome Mark@edinburghsketcher to Kames Castle Cottages. With his beautiful sketches Mark has captured his fun-filled, family holiday staying at Kames Castle Cottages on the Isle of Bute.
Here is the background to one of his wonderful sketches.
A misty morning ferry ride from Rhubodach on the Isle of Bute to the mainland and the Colintraive Hotel for lunch. We left the car on the island and nipped over the calm and peaceful Kyles of Bute for a bite to eat and a walk through a beautiful community garden our ferry man told us about.
We are enjoying a fabulous few carefree days in the wast of Scotland, staying at the gorgeous Kames Castle estate. The sketch is pencil with a little watercolour as we waited for the ferry. I thought the pencil lines would suit the misty feel of the day better than my usual ink lines which can be a little harsh. I didn’t have long as the boat was coming over to get us so added the colours while crossing the water.
