Toba Tabo - Exciting new East Asian Grocery
Toba Tabo is an East Asian grocery store based in Rothesay on the beautiful Isle of Bute. The store is delighted to serve both local customers and visitors but also, thanks to its online store, shoppers more further afield.
Owned and managed by the lovely Grace, Toba Tabo specialises in bringing the flavours of East Asia to your kitchen, making it easy to cook authentic and exciting meals at home. Whether you’re preparing Japanese ramen, Chinese stir-fries, Korean barbecue, or Southeast Asian curries, Toba Tabo stocks all the essential ingredients you will need. From noodles, rice, sauces, spices, and seasonings to harder-to-find staples, their carefully selected range is perfect for both experienced home cooks and curious beginners. They are passionate about quality and authenticity, and aim to make East Asian cooking accessible, enjoyable, and inspiring.
One of their speciality ingredients is Yutaka authentic Japan-grown rice. They stock three types: Nagano Koshihikari, Yumepirika and Hitomebore as well 2kg bags of the Yumepirika brown rice.
But alongside cooking ingredients, Toba Tabo also offer a wide selection of popular East Asian soft drinks, snacks, and sweets. From refreshing bottled drinks to tempting candies and treats, their shelves are filled with favourites that are loved across Japan, China, Korea, and Southeast Asia. And if that’s not enough they even stock a number of non-food items including anime figurines such Momo and Ken from Dandadan and Denji from Chainsaw Man as well as their fun Toba Tabo branded t-shirts.
