Kames Castle Renovation

We are beginning to pull together some of the history of Kames Castle and also to document the work that has been completed on the building to date. More will be posted shortly, but we thought we would begin by sharing a before and after comparison of the exterior renovations.  The left hand picture shows the building covered in concrete prior to recent renovations.  This concrete, which was two layers thick in places was removed, the stone cleaned and all four massive walls painstakingly repointed by hand.  The result is quite spectacular.  The building can breath once again and is now drying out before interior work continues.
